Acclaimed educator and literacy advocate, Michelle Parker-Rock is the author of over a dozen books for young readers, including the highly-praised Authors Kids LoveSeries, hundreds of articles about reading and writing, and numerous professional materials and resources. She is the recipient of the 9th Annual New Jersey Governor’s Teacher Recognition Award and was named the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators 2011 Member of the Year. Michelle holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from Hunter College in New York and a Masters Degree in Education from the State University of New York. She teaches writing at the Piper Writers Studio at the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing at Arizona State University and has been a writing instructor for the Institute of Children’s Literature. She serves on the Board of the Arizona Reading Association as the Advocacy Chairperson and is a member of the International Reading Association's Literacy Action Team. Michelle is also the Regional Advisor for SCBWI Arizona and is a member of the Children’s and Young Adult Author Committee for the Tucson Festival of Books.
